Another Avril Show Cancelled
Avril Lavigne is not having too much luck with her tour. Before this year, Avril had never had to cancel any of her shows. But this current tour is turning out to be a flop.

After canceling concerts in two cities due to laryngitis, Avril has now canceled her Barcelona show due to a truckers' strike.

Major roads in the city are blocked off as part of a protest against high gas prices, which prevents Avril from being able to get to the venue. At least this cancellation isn't her fault!

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Pop punk star Avril Lavigne is starring on her first lead movie role. She is taking her movie career one step further with a new "deep and dark" character.

The 23-year-old singer is upping her career as a serious thespian with a totally different character from the previous works she had done.

Avril Lavigne Rocks London, Offers New Scent
With millions of albums sold and a bevy of sold-out concerts under her belt, Avril Lavigne is a seasoned rock and roll pro, despite her young age.

And last night, she treated to folks in London to a killer concert, performing for a very enthusiastic crowd at the O2 Arena.

Following her concert, the Canuck chick made her way over to a SanDisk afterparty, schmoozing with the guests and posing for the paparazzi. She looked cute in a black-and-white striped v-neck sleeveless shirt, with a black skirt and some black leggings.

And if you’ve always wanted to smell like Avril, you’ll get your chance next year, as she’s reportedly teamed up with Procter & Gamble Prestige Products to launch her very first fragrance.

P&G Global Marketing Director Heike Hindenlang told press, “Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her. We think we can reach out to new consumers with her scents. It’s about finding which brands appeal to young consumers and [which] fashion and celebrities are resonant with them.”

Avril commented, “I am pleased to be working with Procter & Gamble on releasing my first fragrance. Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone.”

Arena return for Avril
WHEN you’ve sold 30m albums by the tender age of 23, plumping for the album moniker, Best Damn Thing, seems less like arrogance and more a statement of fact.

Yet, as with any precocious act – particular one which hails from the other side of the Atlantic – Avril Lavigne is not everybody’s cup of tea.

Sullen, stroppy – a typical teenager, when she first burst on to the scene seemingly in a fit of pique with her debut offering Let’s Go in 2002, Lavigne spoke for a host of skater-gear clad youths on the look out for a feisty pin-up for the bedroom walls.

Now approaching her mid-20s, the Ontario performer’s image and demeanour has noticeably softened.

Married to Sum 41’s Deryck Whilbley (who helped produce her latest offering), Lavigne has also forged a budding film career thanks to roles in Fast Food Nation and Over The Hedge.

Last in town on the Under My Skin tour in 2004, expect to see a smilier, more content Avril Lavigne performing her punk-pop anthems this time out.

Avril Lavigne plays the M.E.N. Arena on Thursday, May 29. The Jonas Brothers support. £27.50. Call the Box Office on 0870 060 1768 to book or click here.

New Gallery + Help
OK, so I finally figured out what happened to the gallery, it got deleted from Fan-Sites.org so I will begin on a new gallery. I'm not sure if I'll get a domain for it or if I'll just make a subdomain for it.

And as for the new gallery coming, I will be looking for a couple people to become Gallery "techies" to help get all the screen caps and photos back and get them all uploaded to the new gallery once I get Coppermine set up. So, if you're interested, e-mail me at jen@avrilhq.com.

"So You Think You Can Dance" Gossip!
Is it wrong of me that as the "American Idol" finale approaches all I can think about is Thursday night's premiere of my favorite reality show, "So You Think You Can Dance?" No, you say? Good, then in return for your unwavering support I shall bestow upon ye a smorgasbord of gossip that I snagged when I met up with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, host Cat Deeley and last season's most memorable performers: Lacey Schwimmer, Lauren Gottlieb and b-girl Sara Von Gillern.

Let's start with the dancers, since they're the reason most of us tune in anyway. Lacey is shaping up to be one of the show's most successful alum with an acting role (yes, she's a double threat) in the new Adam Sandler movie, "Bedtime Stories" and a burgeoning romance with a guy you may have heard of: David Cook!

It was rumored that the fourth place finisher hooked up with "Idol's" resident rocker at this year's "Idol Give Back" taping and Lacey confirms the romance -- sort of. "In my book, it wasn't dating," she coyly told Pop Wrap yesterday. "We hung out a few times and we're really good friends, we're just both so busy now." But the sly smile that crept across her face told me a different story, so naturally I couldn't just leave it at that! "I'm just not dating in general right now," the busier-than-ever dancer admitted. But something tells me when they "hang out" it's not just to discuss who'll get the Democratic presidential nomination.

But Lacey isn't the only uber-successful hoofer to have come out of last season. After the jump, get the inside scoop on Mariah Carey's surprise wedding from one of her dancers, find out why Avril Lavigne is such a diva and what Nigel Lythgoe said could be the show's most shocking turn of events, ever!

The show's first b-girl, Sara, is currently trekking all over the globe on Avril Lavigne's tour, so right off the bat I asked her about the giant elephant in the room: Is Avril as difficult to work with as she's painted to be in the press?

After a loooooong pause Sara told me that Avril's "really rad and fun to work with." Ah, just one year in the biz and she's already spinning like a pro. But then again this breaker knows a thing or two about spinning. Since she was rocking a seriously spiky and streaked hairdo, I asked if the new look was for the tour. "Actually, it's a rule we all have to have dark hair, there can only be one blonde on the stage," she told me about blonde Avril. "One of the other dancers is bleach blonde but she has to wear a wig. She actually has like five different dark ones."
